If your goal is to see as many waterfalls in one day as possible then Rickett’s Glen will certainly help you with that. A seven mile hike that includes 21 waterfalls is definitely worth the increased trail difficulty.
My pictures above have a really cool effect with capturing the motion of the water. This effect is achieved by increasing the time the shutter is open by increasing to a higher F stop. I also used an ND Filter and a CPL Filter. The CPL filter reduces the glare from the water surface, while the ND filter reduces the overall light going through the lens, this has the effect of increasing the shutter time to exaggerate the slow motion capture of the waters movement.
Using the manual setting on your camera may be daunting but once you understand how each setting affects the pictures being taken you gain so much more overall control of your intended objects.
